How we are working to change the picture

It is our mission at the Know Your Lemons Foundation to improve early detection of breast cancer worldwide through creative and empowering education. We do this through three initiatives: our early detection app, classes taught by trained volunteer educators, and our global campaign available on social, in print, and online in over 30 languages.

Our Early Detection App

The Know Your Lemons app is the world’s first app designed to improve early detection for breast cancer—with a twist of lemon. The Know Your Lemons app teaches you the basics when it comes to breast health by teaching you:

  • how to self-exam

  • to identify the 12 symptoms of breast cancer

  • to track your period

  • to learn about risk factors

  • to get a custom screening plan to make knowing when to get a mammogram crystal clear.

Trained Volunteer Educators

Our Volunteer Educators or “Certified Lemonistas” are made up survivors, care-givers, doctors, teachers, or they simply feel passionate about women’s health. No matter the experience, we provide our volunteers with all the tools, training, and resources they will need to lead engaging breast health discussions in their community and empower women with confidence and knowledge for early detection. We accept people from all around the world! Click here to see the impact our volunteers are having in their community by clicking on this live education map! Our Global Campaign

Through our online and print campaign, we overcome the barriers of taboo, fear and literacy that have held breast cancer ‘awareness’ back for decades. We strive to be friendly, accessible, and inclusive as we create materials to have easy and open breast health conversations.
