1 in 8 women will get breast cancer, but you can do something about it.

The Know Your Lemons at Work program promotes early detection through self-exam and mammograms to save lives and reduce costly treatment every year.

Breast cancer impacts the whole family.

This program is not just designed for women, or even just to benefit your employees. It’s for your whole workforce, and for the broader community, too!

Breast cancer has an excellent survival rate when found early

BUT

Many people don’t know how to improve early detection

Breast cancer can make an impact on the business aspects of a company, in healthcare costs and lost work time every year.

On average, for a company insuring 10,000 women:*

  • 1,250 will be diagnosed with breast cancer

  • 625 will be diagnosed before age 64

  • 16 will be diagnosed each year during a 40-year career

If just one person is diagnosed in stage 1 or 2 instead of 3 or 4, the survivorship increase is substantial! There is also a dramatic reduction in treatment costs:

What does the program include?

  • Kick off the program with an engaging webinar that teaches employees how to detect breast cancer early and introduces your company’s screening challenge. We’ll lead the webinar and provide you with email templates and fun images to get employees excited!

  • Employees use a unique company code to access the Workplace Benefits section of the app. Here you can track your progress toward your company's screening and early detection goals. You can also access tools to help with diagnosis.

  • It can be overwhelming to get a breast cancer diagnosis. The Dandelion Toolkit helps newly-diagnosed patients understand their diagnosis, explain it to family and friends, and communicate with their healthcare team. This physical toolkit is free to request for anyone insured by your company, made available in the exclusive section of the app.

FAQs

  • The program is often free to enroll since the Know Your Lemons at Work can be purchased using Health Improvement, Innovation, or Wellness funds. Talk to your insurance account manager to learn more about how these costs can be covered and reimbursed.

  • We provide everything you need to promote and run the program. You designate a company representative who will manage it. This is often someone who delivers health or employee educational programs at your company.

  • Once you have enrolled and paid the fee, you will receive an email with instructions for setting up the program. It's as easy as that!

  • You don’t just insure your employees. You also insure their families. By limiting the program to only the women you employ, you are missing a significant number of those you insure. By including all employees in this engaging program, you are helping them improve their own health AND the health of their families.

The program educates in a unique way that uses lemons instead of breasts, which works for all demographics.

While it’s possible for men to get breast cancer, this program is also about strengthening health discussions at home. When men are involved, the impact for saving lives grows substantially.
