Patient Experience Week

Starting this week, Patient Experience Week is an event to celebrate healthcare staff impacting patient experience every day. Started by members of the Beryl Institute community in 2014, PX Week provides a focused time for organizations to celebrate accomplishments, re-energize efforts and honor the people who impact patient experience every day. From nurses and physicians, to support staff and executive professionals, to patients, families and communities served, the Institute (Beryl Institute) hopes to bring together healthcare organizations across the globe to observe PX Week.

At the Know Your Lemons Foundation the patient experience does not start with nurses and doctors, although we recognize them as a huge part in the patients' journey. In the majority of cases we see the journey starting with our Volunteer Educators or with the patient directly because they saw our material. We want to recognize our volunteers who work in their communities to educate on early detection of breast cancer. We aim to educate everyone so that they have the knowledge of how to start their breast health journey early and keep healthy habits that will serve them for life.

To celebrate this week we will share a patient impact experience everyday on our social media accounts.

The Patient Experience: The sum of all interactions, shaped by an organizations culture, that influence patients perceptions across the continuum of care.
