“TreatHER: eLEMONate HER Risk” — A Powerful Day of Wellness, Education & Sisterhood
SurviveHER + Know Your Lemons: Partnering for Empowerment and Impact
At Know Your Lemons, we believe that access to life-saving breast health education should be empowering, inclusive, and accessible to all. That’s why we’re honored to partner with SurviveHER, a dynamic nonprofit dedicated to improving breast health outcomes and uplifting a community of women through education, support, and culturally relevant outreach.
A Mission Rooted in Equity and Empowerment
SurviveHER is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to inform, inspire, and empower breast cancer survivors and women. Since its founding, SurviveHER has supported over 1,000 women with vital breast health education, peer support, funded mammograms, and patient navigation. With a deep commitment to health equity, the organization tackles disparities head-on, providing financial and wellness resources and curating impactful events that foster real community connections. Their vision is simple but powerful: eliminate barriers so that every woman has access to the care she deserves.
Meet the Visionary: Lyndsay Levingston
Left: Christina Mackey (Director of Partnerships and Initiatives) Right: Lyndsay Levingston (Founder of SurviveHer)
The force behind SurviveHER is Lyndsay Levingston, a multimedia personality, accomplished host, published writer, and philanthropic powerhouse. Lyndsay’s impressive career includes time as a television news anchor, producer, and speaker—experiences that shaped her voice as a passionate advocate.
In July 2019, Lyndsay was diagnosed with Stage 2B triple-negative breast cancer, a life-altering moment that sparked a new mission. After being deemed cancer-free in February 2020, she founded SurviveHER later that year to uplift other women facing similar journeys. Today, Lyndsay leads the charge to educate, empower, and celebrate SurviveHERs everywhere, using her platform to drive change and build community.
Spotlight: “TreatHER: eLEMONate HER Risk” Event
One of SurviveHER’s signature initiatives is the “TreatHER” community event, first launched in March 2023. Designed as a mobile, curated experience, TreatHER travels to cities across the country to deliver breast health education and support. This year’s kickoff in Houston, SurviveHER’s home base, featured the theme TreatHER: eLEMONate HER Risk—a vibrant, wellness-focused day centered on breast cancer awareness, prevention, and empowerment.
Hosted in a Houston suburb in partnership with Houston Methodist Sugar Land’s Neal Cancer Center and the City of Missouri City, the event welcomed 125 attendees for a day of:
Breast health resources
Powerful conversations
Line dancing and community bonding
And yes—a cute and memorable lemonade stand, thanks to our partnership!
What made this TreatHER event unique?
It featured an intentional focus on risk reduction, amplified by Know Your Lemons’ approachable and visual education materials. By creating a welcoming space, the event encouraged open conversations—especially among younger women, who often aren’t included in traditional breast cancer outreach.
Attendee reactions
“Inspiring.” “Informative.” “Uplifting.”
Women left feeling empowered, supported, and more informed. One attendee summed it up beautifully:
“Loved the camaraderie and support of my sisters.”

How We Connected: A Natural Partnership
SurviveHER and Know Your Lemons were destined to collaborate.
At the 2024 TreatHER event, a guest breast surgeon included Know Your Lemons visuals in her presentation—unprompted. That spontaneous alignment sparked a deeper conversation at the Know Your Lemons breakfast during SABCS, and from there, the partnership blossomed.
With a shared commitment to breaking down barriers through visual, accessible education, we knew we could do even more—together. If you are or know of a partnership with a similar mission please visit our World Breast Alliance page.
Looking Ahead: SurFIVEHER in 2025
As SurviveHER celebrates its 5th anniversary—the “SurFIVEHER” year—the organization is dreaming bigger and doubling down on impact.
Their goals for 2025 are to:
Educate and support 1,000 women, including at least 25 unhoused individuals
Host 5 TreatHER events, reaching 200+ attendees each
Expand outreach to New York City, New Orleans, Harlem, and Martha’s Vineyard
Through strategic partnerships and increased funding, SurviveHER is taking its signature pop-up-style wellness events on the road—reaching more diverse and underserved communities with life-saving breast health education and resources.
Together with Know Your Lemons, SurviveHER is building a future where no woman fights alone—and every woman feels informed, supported, and empowered.
